Patricia M. Annino chairs Prince, Lobel, Glovsky & Tye’s Estate Planning and Probate Group. She is a nationally recognized authority on estate planning and taxation, with 20 years of experience serving the estate planning needs of families, individuals, and owners of closely held businesses. A member of the firm’s Media and Intellectual Property Group, she represents authors, artists, and musicians in estate planning and probate matters. She is the author of two widely utilized professional texts: Estate Planning in Massachusetts, part of West Publishing Company’s Massachusetts Practice Series; Taxwise Planning for Aging, Ill, or Incapacitated Clients, published by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; author of the Federal Gift Tax, A Practical Guide to Estate Planning in Massachusetts, published by MCLE and author of the published book, Women & Money, A Practical Guide to Estate Planning. Patricia has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal on the topic of Estate Planning, and is currently acting as the Estate Planning Consultant to the independent investment research provider, Morningstar. She has been quoted in the Dallas Morning News, the Chicago Tribune, Marketwatch, Investors.com, the Women’s Business Journal, and interviewed on Bloomberg Television.
While earning her master degree in Taxation at Boston University, she was a member of The Boston University Journal of Tax Law. She also taught “Estate and Gift Taxation” in the Masters in Taxation program at Bentley College and is currently teaching “Estate Planning” in the Masters in Financial Planning program at Bentley College. She has conducted more than 80 seminars for public and private organizations, including the CEO Women’s Group; IBM Corporation; Fidelity Investments; National Tax Institute; Melon Bank; Liberty Mutual; MFS; the American, Massachusetts, and Boston Bar Associations; the Massachusetts Bankers Association; and Vitale, Caturano & Company. Most recently, Patricia participated in a nationally-broadcasted teleconference call arranged by the U.S. Department of Labor entitled “Estate Planning for Women.”
Patricia has received the highest (AV) rating from the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, and was selected by her peers to appear in the Best Lawyers in America Consumer Guide in the Estate and Trust category. In 2007, Patricia was selected to The Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of Trusts and Estates. In addition, Patricia was recognized in the 2004 - 2007 Boston magazine supplements as a Massachusetts “Super Lawyer.” In 2006, she was selected in that poll as one of the top 50 Female Lawyers in Massachusetts.
Patricia has a long record of service in professional and community organizations. She is currently a member of the Cotting School Medical and Senior Advisor Board. For the Massachusetts Bar Association, she has been a past member of the Probate Council, past chairperson of the Probate Legislation Committee, and past co-chairperson of the Probate Education Committee. Patricia also has served as past co-chairperson of the Boston Bar Association Estate Planning Committee, and on the National Board of Directors of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) and former president of the Alumni President’s Council of Independent Secondary Schools. She was the recipient of the 1988 Distinguished Alumna Award from Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart and is a past president of its Alumnae Association.
